Artist: José Barea
Portrait of José Barea Rocafull, son of the artist and creator of the falla of this ninot, when he was 12 years old. Restored in 1995 by José Barea himself, who had posed as a model for his father 40 years earlier. “In the end, the only one who never gets paid is always the apprentice” — that was the critique. Rebuilt with a wooden structure, wax head, and polyester hand.

It represents a pair of migratory birds arriving in Valencia, hoping to taste the authentic Valencian paella… but on their plate appears something quite different: a rice dish full of improper ingredients that have little or nothing to do with the traditional recipe. With this ironic twist, the aim is to claim respect for our culinary traditions.
